“Under the Skin” is a series of collages made from old newspapers and magazines, digital images, combined with colored pencils. The materials—already full of stories, gazes, and narratives—are torn apart, reassembled, and transformed into new layers of identity.
By building the images up through many layers, the series explores what lies beneath the surface: What memories, experiences, voices, and imprints do we carry with us? The collage fragments act as visual echoes of everything embedded in the skin—the things we don’t always speak about, yet that still shape who we are.
“Under the Skin” invites the viewer to see the invisible—the emotional, the fragile, what we carry with us in silence. Through textures, torn edges, pencil marks, and layer upon layer of visual remnants, an inner landscape comes into view.
The images are part of my poetry book «Donde la herida germina/ Sår» (Contos publisher, Buenos Aires 2025).
